ACMI House

ACMI House offers assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.  This program operates a 24 hour hotline for crisis calls and a safe shelter for those that need escape from violent situations.  ACMI House also offers counseling support, advocacy services, children’s services, referral assistance and community education.  All services are available to both male and female clients with the exception of sheltering services.  Adult males will be sheltered up to 3 days in a local motel.

Community Cupboard

Community Cupboard is designed to provide food for individuals and families in need.  In association with local organizations the Community Cupboard works to bring in donations of food, perishable items, and monetary donations to stock the Cupboard.  Local churches, civic organizations, local businesses and private citizens donate needed staples to help out members of the community.

Head Start & Early Head Start

Head Start & Early Head Start are designed to help children get a boost in development.  These programs works to ensure children have the skills to achieve school-readiness.  Children and their families benefit from opportunities in education for the mind, health and nutrition for the body and social engagement for the community.  Eligible children are birth through five years of age.  These programs work hard to strengthen your child’s development and encourage parental engagement


SOCAG offers affordable rental property, including 10 subsidized farmworker units through Rural Development.  Home Partnership grants through the Oklahoma Housing Finance Authority are used to increase affordable housing in Southwest Oklahoma.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program


The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) allows individuals 55 or older to volunteer and help meet community needs. Opportunities may include delivering meals to home bound adults, improve literacy and learning, transport veterans to medical facilities, help teach job skills, assist with food drives and food crisis intervention, help with disaster preparedness and work to support veterans and military families.

RX for Oklahoma

This program assists uninsured and under-insured Oklahoman's’ have access to free and or discounted medications.  Assistance with pharmaceutical applications and serving as patient advocates are additional services offered.

Senior Nutrition

This program is funded through the Older Americans Act. Services include congregate meals, carry-out meals for the home bound, Advantage meals, outreach services, transportation, health promotion, and medication management. 

Southwest Enterprises

Southwest Enterprises is here to help adults with developmental disabilities obtain community integrated jobs.  This program requires no fee for individuals that qualify for DHS/DDSD services.

Southwest Transit

Southwest Transit got its start as a project of the Altus Christian Ministries with a group of volunteers, known as the Roadrunners, providing rides for seniors and persons with disabilities to places such as the grocery store and medical appointments. By 1983, funding had been secured to operate a public transportation system in the counties of Jackson, Harmon, and Greer. 

Currently, the system has 25 vehicles including mini-vans and cutaway buses. Transit services are available in Altus, Hollis, Mangum, and Granite on a demand response basis. We are a provider for Logisticare non-emergency medical transportation known as Soonerride.
