To qualify, a person must be 18 years of age or older and be out of school. Must be determined by the Social Security Administration to have a disability with a diagnosis of MR. Must be approved by DDSD. Documents required: application, medical exam within past year, medical and dental history, IQ test/psychological evaluation, social and vocational history, placement history and data from prior programs attached.

The supported employment and job coach services help secure a job in the community and maintain it with necessary supports. An example would be janitorial and grounds maintenance contracts with local businesses. Community-based activities support local organizations in providing needed service to Altus. An example includes delivering Meals on Wheels. Habitation Training provides personal life skills training. Workshop activities include a paper and aluminum recycling program.
